Gresik is located in west side of Surabaya distanced about 18 km, be industrial town with Semen Gresik factory which is famous in Indonesia, there is also big wood crafter home industry and build since 1976.

In this town there is Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim cemetery who is one of 9 holy men in Islam religion, first Islam spreader in East Java who pass away in 882 H or 1419 A.D and buried in Kampung Gapura Gresik.

Gresik Birds Preservation

Birds Preservation in Gresik is located about 40 km away from the capital of the regency. Located in Pangkah Kulon village. The road condition is fairly good. The attraction is managed by village society of Pangkah Kulon.

KASTOBA LAKE

Kastoba Lake is located in Peromaan village, Tambak district. To reach Kastoba lake location, we can take the way through ring road of Bawean Island from Sangkapura district towards Tambak district after reaching Tanjung Ori village, Tambak district admission about 3 Km pass the village road. The road condition is 75 % can be passed by four wheels drive at ease. The rest is still difficult to reach with four wheels drive except with wheel vehicle 2. Then for reach the lake location, through footpath, which can only be passed by foot, about 1 Km, to the forest and the road, is fluctuate hilly.

As one of nature tourism object pledge in Bawean Island, generally physical condition is hardly promise for the tourists, with clear water and fresh fascination, and you can drink it directly although it isn’t cooked before. NOKO ISLAND

Beside pilgrim tourism, Gresik regency also has Bawean Island with its nature tourism object, such as Ria Gili Barat beach that located in Suwari village, Sangkapura district. About 800 meters from the beach, there is beautiful and clean fishermen village. There is also a hang bridge that made from bamboo. This beach has slope ground and usually used as Rukyat place by Religion Government Service.

There are still four beaches in this island that is Tinggen beach an Makam Panjang in Lebak village, Sangkapura district. In Tinggen beach tip, there is Sembodo grave that usually called Makam Panjang or Long Grave with 15 meters length and 2 meters width. In this beach, the wave is very calm, so that the visitors can canoeing and fishing using traditional canoe.

Your journey to Bawean Island can used to visit Noko Island or Selayar that located in east side of Bawean Island, Sungai Rujing village. The other beach is Labuhan beach that also has calm wave. It is located in Tanjung Ori village, Tambak district. Mayangkara beach is located in Kepuh Teluk village, Tambak district. This beach is the location of Siti Zaenab, Sunan Giri’s wife when she had anchor, then known as Ibu Rambut Panjang - Mother Long Hair. Beside its sand sea, the visitors also can enjoy its sea park that has white sand.

Lacar waterfall tourism object is the interesting nature tourism in Lebak village, Sangkapura district. The other is Kastoba Lake in Paroman village, which has clear and fresh water to drink.

LOWO CAVE

The meaning of ‘Lowo’ is ‘Bat’, so this cave is also called Bat cave. The cave is dwelt by many bats, that’s why it called Lowo Cave. This cave is located between mining of Gresik cement border, about 20 km of congestion sign.

Lowo cave is located in Pongangan village, Manyar district. The road to the cave (500 m) is not asphalted yet.
This cave is still original and natural cave with its interesting bats can attract many tourists. They can take pictures; see the bats, and other activities. They also allowed having some research here. So, don’t doubt to visit Lowo cave in Gresik regency.

HOT SPRING

Gresik hot spring is located in Sawahmulyo village (Bawean Island), Sangkapura district. It is 80 miles away from the capital of the regency, can be reached by ships/ jet foil. The road to this site (500 m) is not asphalted yet.

Many tourists often visit this natural pool because it has comfortable hot spring. This hot spring is unique and natural.

RELIGIOUS TOURISM IN GRESIK

MAKAM PANJANG - LONG GRAVE

Makam Panjang is also called Long Grave, has unique legend and form. The cultural tourism of Makam Panjang is located in Lebak village, Sangkapura district, with about 3 Km to west. Tourist can go to the location using two / four wheels vehicle.

Its attractive tourism is the graveyard has unique legend that trusted by society around. There are two long graves in the village, in point of Tinggen beach and in public funeral. Both of the graves have about 15 meters length and 2 meters width.

WALIYAH SITI ZAENAB GRAVE

Cultural tourism of Waliyah Siti Zaenab grave is located in Diponggo village, Tambak district, about 5 Km to west. The road to the location is in good condition. Its tourism attractive is Waliyah Siti Zaenab known as Sunan Giri wife who passed away when she had journey complete with household facilities. At that time, she found at anchor along Mayangkara beach by Ibu Rambut Panjang.

The grave location is very strategic completed with supporting facilities for religious service both of Mosque and also relax place for the pilgrim, and there is museum for save fully goods property of Waliyah Siti Zaenab.

PUSPONEGORO GRAVEYARD

Pusponegoro is the first Regent in Gresik at 1617. Pusponegoro grave complex is made become Gapuro Sukolilo grave complex, for the ancestors. There is also the other grave in Gapuro Sukolilo grave complex, like Tumenggung Ario Negoro grave. This grave is actually called as Asmarataka grave complex, but now called as Pusponegoro grave complex.

The attractive tourism here is its old grave building form, and made from white stone, and massif with accolade gravestone form.

FATIMAH BINTI MAIMUN GRAVEYARD

Fatimah Binti Maimun Graveyard is located in Leran village, Manyar, about 5 km toward Pantura from Gresik town.
The tourism fascination is the old Islam spreader’s (in Indonesia) cemetery.

According to a history, Siti Fatimah Binti Maimun is the daughter of a King from Gedah, which when he arrived in Gresik port, he felt sick and finally pass away at 1082 A.D.

NYAI AGENG PINATIH GRAVEYARD

Nyai Ageng Pinatih Graveyard is located in the middle of Gresik town, precisely in Kebongson village that about 500 meters from port of Gresik town.

Nyai Ageng Pinatih is a rich merchant who become head of Gresik Port during Majapahit Kingdom era and as mother lift from Raden Paku / Joko Samodro / Ainul Yaqien / Prabu Satmoto, Also Sunan Giri. Nyai Ageng Pinatih pass away in the year 1483 A.D.

RADEN SANTRI GRAVEYARD

Raden Santri grave is located near to Gresik city aloon-aloon (town square), precisely in R. Santri street behind the old Government Service Office Of Gresik Region. Raden Santri is cousin of Maulana Malik Ibrahim, and titled Raden Syajid Ali Murtadlo, which also the spreader of Islam religion in Java Island after the period of Maulana Malik Ibrahim. The condition is still good, and supported with some facilities that add its interesting view to visited.

SUNAN PRAPEN GRAVEYARD

Sunan Prapen graveyard is located in west side direction from Sunan Giri grave. Besides Sunan Prapen graveyard, there are also other

graves of Islam religion figure such as: grave, kawis, cave and Panembahan Agung. The interesting tourism of Sunan Prapen

graveyard is the omission sites that carved on the wall and grave dome, describes commerce prosperity in that period.

Sunan Prapen figure is related to dynasty Giri, which open up by Sunan Giri that is Sunan Prapen in 1548 - 1605, continued by Panembahan Kawis Guwo in 1605 - 1616, and followed Panembahan Agung in 1616 - 1636.
Sunan Prapen is substitution of Sunan Giri after Sunan Giri pass away in 1545.

Sunan Prapen pass away in 1605 and then its funeral become funeral complex of the next Giri ruler.

SUNAN GIRI GRAVEYARD

Sunan Giri is also called Joko Samodro ini his nonage, also Raden Paku, then nicknamed by Raden Rakhmad and because of his special things that owned by Raden Rakhmad, Sunan Ampel called him Ainul Yakin and later when he declared as head of Islam government in Java, he got a titled ‘Prabu Satmoto’ is son of Syeh Maulana Malik Ishaq with princess Blambangan, Dewi Sekar Dadu.

Sunan giri who one of Wali Songo member that also propagate Islam religion in Java Island, pass away at 1428 saka or 1506 A.D. Sunan Giri Graveyard is located in Giri village, Kebomas district, Gresik regency, about two 2 km toward south side of Gresik city. The graveyard complex that stays in Giri hilltop located in middle of family graveyard and public in that era.

The facilities are parking area of pilgrim, and in the graveyard complex, there are supporter facilities: Giri mosque, and the others fascination tourism and in Sunan Giri grave, there is: original teak wooden grave dome, its wall consisted of flora panel, while there is Scorpion Makara on its door of dome which in flora motif. MAULANA MALIK IBRAHIM GRAVEYARD
